If you have the budget, then an official wedding toastmaster from the Guild of Toastmasters is not only a nice touch, but it will also take some of the stress out of the day and keep it running smoothly.

YOUR INITIAL ENQUIRY AND MEETING

Look at booking your wedding toastmaster at least 12 months in advance, or as early as possible, to secure the booking.

OUR PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE TO WEDDINGS

Wedding Toastmasters would traditionally wear a long red tailcoat which is also known as the ‘hunting pink long tailed coat’.
Underneath they will wear a crisp white shirt and a white bow tie along with white gloves. The attire is complete with black trousers and black patent leather shoes, adding a sense of style to your big day.

They will also wear the medallion  of the Guild of Toastmasters, showing that they have been professionally trained.

CONFIRMING YOUR DETAILS

Decide exactly which parts of the day you would require a wedding toastmaster for. Wedding toastmasters are usually present throughout all the formal announcements during the day. They will also introduce each individual speaker during the speeches. They can also be present to help assemble the guests for the wedding photographs, making it much easier for you to ensure that you get all the right photographs.

The toastmaster duties may also include introducing the guests to the members of the Bridal Party in the receiving line. Traditionally this line up would be Bride and Groom, Bride’s Mother, Bride’s Father, Groom’s Mother, Groom’s Father.

The toastmaster might also say Grace before the meal, should a religious figurehead member not be present, if required.
If you are not having a DJ or live band, who have use of a microphone, it is often a good idea to ask the toastmaster to stay until the evening.

This enables them to announce the cake cutting and first dance. This can be one of the hardest times of the day to gather everyone together, especially after the drink has been flowing.
